Automate Microsoft 365 Tasks Directly Through the Claude Interface
Directly manage emails, files, and calendar events within your chat.
Enable and use the Microsoft 365 connector's write tools to allow Claude to perform administrative tasks like drafting emails and organizing OneDrive files.
The Scenario
You need to send an update to a client and save a copy of the project notes to a specific folder in your corporate OneDrive.
Before & after
Users would traditionally switch between their browser and Outlook or OneDrive, manually copying information from Claude and formatting it into emails or files. This task-switching usually takes 15–20 minutes.
By enabling 'write tools' in the Microsoft 365 connector, you can prompt Claude to perform these actions directly from the chat interface. This takes 1–3 minutes.
The Prompt
Draft an email to [RECIPIENT_NAME] based on our current conversation, save it as a draft in my Outlook, and create a folder in my OneDrive named '[FOLDER_NAME]'.
The Microsoft 365 connector now supports 'write' capabilities, meaning it doesn't just read your data; it can take action within your environment. This requires an admin to enable the updated permissions first.
